Augie Sherman

Co-Founder & Managing Principal

With 14 years of experience in commercial real estate development, acquisitions, transactions, and capital placement, Augie has spent the past eight years solely in healthcare real estate. Prior to founding Redbud in August 2025, he was with Catalyst Healthcare Real Estate where he focused his time on development and acquisitions of healthcare facilities across the country.

Prior to joining Catalyst, Augie managed a team responsible for originating and closing over $500 million of medical office buildings, surgery centers, and acute care properties for an in-house fund at Caddis Healthcare Real Estate and its institutional joint venture partner, Invesco Real Estate. Before concentrating on acquisitions, Augie led Caddis’s transactions team for healthcare recapitalizations, developments, and acquisitions.

Before specializing in healthcare real estate and during business school, Augie worked for Invesco Real Estate’s Structured Investments Group where he underwrote preferred equity investments in various commercial sectors. Prior to Invesco and business school, he started his career with a middle-market real estate capital advisory firm in New York City placing debt and equity for clients’ development projects throughout the Tri-State area.

Augie holds a Master of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Wake Forest University.

James Anderson

Co-Founder & Managing Principal

James brings a deep institutional asset management and healthcare real estate background to Redbud. Over the course of his 14-year career, he has worked across acquisitions, asset management, development, and valuation, with involvement in more than $5.3 billion of real estate spanning 7,000 multifamily units and 5.7 million square feet of commercial assets.

Prior to founding Redbud, James served as Director of Asset Management at L&B Realty Advisors, where he oversaw a $1 billion national portfolio of office, cold storage, life science, and hotel assets. His responsibilities included asset-level strategy, leasing initiatives, capital projects, and development execution, with a focus on improving performance and protecting long-term value.

Before joining L&B, James spent 10 years at Invesco Real Estate. During his final five years there, he focused primarily on healthcare real estate, managing a $3.2 billion diversified portfolio of existing assets, developments, and redevelopments. That portfolio included a $2.1 billion medical office portfolio consisting of 129 assets across 22 states through multiple joint ventures and separate accounts.

James holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from the University of Virginia.
